The Washington, DC-based editor for Saudi Arabian journalist Jamal Khashoggi lashed out at culture of the capitol after her writer went missing after entering the Saudi consulate in Turkey.

Khashoggi wrote for the Washington Post, under the direction of global opinions editor Karen Attiah. He lived in Virginia and carried an American green card.

“I’m supposed to be resting,” Attiah noted. “But I’m angry.”

“Saudi money has corrupted so many people and organizations in Washington,” she charged.

“I seriously wonder how many (sic) these people, many of whom knew Khashoggi, are able to sleep at night,” she continued.

Khashoggi was last seen entering the Saudi consulate in Turkey. It has been reported that he was murdered and dismembered inside the building.

I’m supposed to be resting.

But I’m angry.

Saudi money has corrupted so many people and organizations in Washington.

I seriously wonder how many these people, many of whom knew #Khashoggi, are able to sleep at night.
