Astros parade 2017: Start time, TV schedule for Houston’s World Series celebration

The Astros won the World Series, which means there’s going to be a parade! Who doesn’t love a parade? Nobody, should be the answer even though there are definitely people out there who don’t like parades.

Ah, well. This post is for people who like parades. Because the Astros are going to get a fun one.

When does the Astros’ parade start?

Houston’s championship parade for the Astros is set to start at 2 p.m. CT (3 p.m. ET), with road closures set to happen at 1 p.m. That gives all of Houston time to get downtown for the festivities, or go to work during the morning and then pretend to get a bit of food poisoning from lunch and scoot over to the parade to celebrate.

Not that we encourage that. You should definitely not lie to work to go to this parade.

How can you watch the Astros’ parade on TV and livestream?

If you’re not in Houston on Friday, which is a lot of people because most of the country doesn’t live in Houston, you can watch the parade on TV. It will be televised nationally on MLB Network and live-streamed on MLB.com for those who can’t escape the office to sit home and watch a parade for a few hours.

KPRC 2 in Houston is also expected to have coverage of the parade starting at 11 a.m. and will broadcast live until 7 p.m.

That way no matter where you live, if you’re an Astros fan you will be able to see Houston’s baseball team throw a massive party after winning its first World Series ever.
