Baking supplies: Spring form pan – 9×3 inches, stand mixer or hand mixer
Filling: Philadelphia cream cheese. I find it has the best flavor and texture.
Topping: For this recipe demonstration I used canned, cherry pie filling. Fruit pie fillings, fruit sauce, as well as preserves, jams and jellies, make easy toppings. Fresh fruit like strawberries, blueberries, blackberries or a mix of berries, are simple toppings and create a wonderful contrast of flavor and texture with the smooth, creamy filling. Or, go for a classic, plain cheesecake with no topping. My favorite!

I rarely if ever comment on youtube videos, but I have to say this method and recipe makes the absolute BEST cheesecake I have ever made or tasted.  My whole family was flipping out last night, no lie.  I’ve made dozens of cheesecakes.  There wasn’t a crack, blemish or even line on the top of the cheesecake.  Unreal.  And the cake is delicious, but not over the top rich like some cheesecakes are.   Bravo!!!!

  6. Thank you so much for your video and clear explanations. I miss so much the new york cheesecake that I try to make it at home. One question : if I divide the proportion by 3 (because the whole cake is too much for 1 person), how the baking time will be different?

    Use a little bit of coconut zest for the topping and a little coconut juice for the cream cheese mix.
    Makes it that much better.

  11. I have made this five times now and it has not failed. I experimented with different crusts and toppings, but your cheesecake recipe always tastes good. I have given them to friends and my daughter loves cheesecake for her birthday instead of a birthday cake and she love yours. Thank you Di, I thought I couldn’t make cheesecake your recipe has every step to take to ensure a a good cake every time!

  12. Hi Di!!! If I wanted to add a sour cream topping to this recipe, how would I go about doing it since the instructions don’t allow you to open the oven? Can I add it to an already cooled cheesecake?
