How To Make The Worlds Best Southern Cornbread Dressing: Crispy Outside Creamy Inside

This is a never fail, can't go wrong basic cornbread dressing recipe. It is waaayyy delicious just as is but if you want to kick it up a notch by adding other ingredients such as apples, walnuts, cranberries, sausage …. etc. this is were you start. I wish I could let you taste this. You guys know how much I love the combined textures of crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside …. well this one is spot on! This dressing is so good that the turkey and other dishes are only incidental the dressing is the highlight and I could eat this dressing with a little gravy, ALL BY ITSELF! No matter if you live as far south as Texas or Georgia or as far North as New York or you might be in California on the West Coast or anywhere in-between or around the world ….. you’re gonna love this!

    • Hey Catina, ikr, when I have to re-watch these videos while I am editing them I get so hungry and my mouth waters too. UnfortunatelyΒ  I always ….. ALWAYS edit in the wee hours of the morning.Β  Play the video right there in the kitchen while you’re cooking, it will give you support and confidence. Important Keys: Just remember to let your cornbread get really hard and dry in the oven and make sure your broth is really fatty/oily (this gives good flavor and moisture) even boilΒ 2 chicken thighs with the giblets to give extra broth and fat if your broth is not fatty/yellow enough.   7. I make mine the same way… Throughout the year, I freeze all my leftover cornbread so when the holidays come I use it for my dressing…

  12. I do not use the liver to add to cornbread dressing. I lightly saute the liver and feed it to some very lucky kitties.

  15. I use all turkey necks and boil them, too. No salt but a lil Lawrys in place of Adobo. I make a white corn meal cornbread and if extra is needed, use stuffing mix. Absolutely no pork. My seasonings are chopped fine because I don’t want to chew on large pieces of celery, bell pepper nor onion. It comes out delicious and smooth – you cannot tell or see the chopped turkey neck meat. You may have your own variation.
