DO NOT BAKE AT 425, go 350, I ended up with blacked sticks of charcoal blocks, THANKS FOR BBQ FUEL

If they burnt so black that they turned to charcoal, you need to get a new stove and install some smoke alarms to warn you that stuff is burning. Because even at 425F, it takes a good 15-20 minutes AFTER the original baking time is up to turn even the smallest pieces black. So spend a $1 and get a thermometer and check the accuracy of your stove. There is no way they could burn that fast at that temp if your oven is working properly. And no, don’t lower the temp to 350F because that bakes the fries too slow and they turn to mush before the outside gets crispy.

  12. Room temperature coconut oil is outstanding for baked sweet potato fries.

  15. Soaking them in water before putting the cornstarch for about 45 minutes makes them crispier. And add the salt after they’ve baked, salt makes them soggy.
