Insect eating is very popular amongst Thai people and eating bugs is apparently quite healthy. They are low in fat, and a good source of protein. What bugs and insects to eat? I’ve been eating it nearly daily for nearly 5 years in Thailand and my friends who have been to visit and tour Thailand have all eaten it, and none of us have had any problems. Thai street food is some of the best Thai food you’ll find in Thailand!

There are different Thai food markets every day of the week in Krabi Thailand. The markets in Thailand are a great place to get an insight into Thai culture while you travel in Thailand. And they're a great place to try traditional Thai street foods, see some bizarre foods, learn Thai recipes and cooking, as well as eat some of the best Thai food in Thailand and maybe even eat some bugs and insects. By the way, if anyone wants to try eating very clean bugs at home you can go to aquarium/pet store if you have one in your city and you can look at live mealworms and crickets that they sell either for birds or for reptiles. Those are grown in pretty much sterile conditions because owners of the pets that eat them want to make sure their pet doesn’t get sick. Mealworms are actually not real worms but pupa of meal bug. They’re fully grown in incubators.

    Makes perfect sense’ if you live in a country where you have billions of big juicy bugs why not make $$ by cooking them, nothing wrong in this…hundred times better than any beef burger for you.

  18. WOW. That’s the most silkworms I’ve ever seen in one place! This must be Phuket, yeah? I know, I could look in the descrip. The palm grub you ate was great. I’ve never seen them at a market. I did find some in a dead palm tree and will do the video here as soon as I can find 5 hours to edit… but yeah, they’re about the most disgusting thing I can think of here to eat. Except tarantulas. Have you had the pleasure of those babies yet Darren?
